Review of Lady Macbeth (2016) by Joanne A — 02 Sep 2017
A drama film that holds no punches thanks to its dark tone which is punctuated by a loving but ultimately doomed relationship, a brooding atmosphere, an excellent setting that is both barren and beautiful and excellent performances all round.
It also has solid camerawork, an engrossing plot and a lead character whose motivations are admirable while her actions are unforgivable making the character one that initially has you on her side only for that to be undermined making for a great final act.
