Teppei Koike is so adorable that even when scarred he looks more adorable than anyone else in the movie, and most likely anyone else you might know. There is something unfair about that. Considering how nice his character is, its sort of hard to buy that the character never had any friends before.
The premise is interesting, but once that is set, the story runs a predictable course.
