Review of Kids (1995) by Jim D — 28 Apr 2011
From the first frame, this film kicks you in the ass, and demands that you feel and respond to it. It's easily the greatest depiction of a teenager's youth, angst, sexual awareness, and raw emotion ever in film.
Which captures realism to a tee. With a brilliant almost documentary-like script by Harmony Korine, as well as fantastic first time performances by Leo Fitzpatrick, Justin Pierce, and Chloe Sevigny. Larry Clark has a masterpiece on his hands.
