Review of Ju-on: The Grudge (2002) by Kendall I — 08 Oct 2010
A modern horror masterpiece - and the creepiest, scariest movie I've ever seen. A great example of how "less is more." Scares are subtle and well directed. And as for the traditional "safe zones" of horror movies? Shimizu throws them out and brings bloody Kayako in with a vengeance.
..and with time. A horror movie that has the guts to WAIT before finally revealing the ghost for the first time. And the ending is perfect. Images haunted me for days after watching this movie - brilliant.
