Review of Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) by The Bored Poet — 21 May 2008
The great original, one of my favorite musicals of all time. Ted Neeley might look a tad wimpy, but he delivers, though the real shining element in this is Carl as Judas, an amazingly powerful voice and performance.
Pilate is also particularly well done.
