Review of Into the Woods (1991) by Philip S — 06 Aug 2007
Amazing musical, with music by Sondheim which automatically lets you know you're in for a treat. At first glance, Into the Woods seems a simple story combining the plots and morals of several well-known fairytales, but when you delve in deeper, you find a lot more complexity and meaning to it.
Thought-provoking dialogue and unusual time signatures in singing, with catchy melodies you won't be able to forget til the day you die, Into the Woods is a spectacular show and the original Broadway cast puts on a spectacular performance.
