Review of Inner Senses (2002) by Anthony W — 26 Sep 2007
A young woman, Yan (Karen Lam) gets a new apartment and is suddenly disturbed by sightings of dead people. Getting help from Jim (Leslie Cheung in his final film role), a workaholic psychologist who has problems of his own, the two of them soon start to share similar experiences that may, or may not, have connections to something that happened long ago.
The film's a bit confusing, and I didn't really have a great deal of a clue what was going on until the end, when it all came together. In fact, the only real reason I persevered was Leslie Cheung, who was a very renowned actor and singer, and this film has a different resonance knowing that he committed suicide not long after this film was released (although he had done better work in the past).
