Review of Inch'Allah (2012) by Frédéric H — 21 Sep 2012
An excellent film. I saw it during the Toronto International Film Festival and it topped my list. It deals with a young French-Canadian doctor's struggle with her situation, life and friendships as she navigates living in Israel, while working in the Palestinian Territories in the West Bank.
I have visited both regions, and they are definitely politically charged, but this film managed to take some of that away as you were focused on the lead characters' internal struggle with the situation, rather than sitting through a political conversation.
Touching, thoughtful, poignant. Best film I've seen in years. Well done Anais!
