Review of I'll See You in My Dreams (2003) by Tom B — 09 Jun 2015
I'll See You In My Dreams is about a older women Carol Peterson played by Blythe Danner. She just trying to go through life after the death of he husband a few years before. She plays cards with a group of older lady June Squibb, Gorgina,Rhea Perlman ,Sally and Mary Kay Pace, Rona friends each week.
Sally asks Carol to go to a speed dating session with her. Carol ends up meeting Bill played by Sam Elliot and they hit it off pretty quickly. She also befriends a pool guy Loyd played by Martin Starr and they go to karaoke together.
Malin Ackerman plays Carol's daughter and she come for a visit and helps Carol out with advise on these strange changes in her every day life. Blythe Danner gives the performance of her career and she is fantastic in this role.
She gives the best performance of the year by a lead actress so far this year. The comedy aspect and relationships in the film are so realistic and genuine. I loved I'll See You In My Dreams I give it a big See-It.
