You can't beat Lindsay Anderson when he's on top form. Malcolm McDowell gives a career best performance (yes, it's better than Clockwork Orange) as the disgruntled rebellious schoolboy who goes through a vast array of surreal and dark experiences before emerging as a budding revolutionary.
The rooftop shootout climax is one of the most memorable in film history.
