Review of Howl (2010) by Kent C — 10 Jan 2011
The story and character of beat poet Allen Ginsberg are fascinating, aided by yet another stunning performance from Franco and beautiful cinematography. It's a shame then that the film makes the gross mistake of trying to visualise his most famous poem with unconvincing animation (which also disrupts the flow of the drama rather than enhancing it) when it could have instead spent more time on this thoroughly interesting and unique artist.
