Review of Hell Night (1981) by Ruby H — 29 Nov 2012
Everyone's favorite demon child is apparently the big draw here..and it is but perhaps not for the reasons intended. Linda Blair along with the rest of the cast are simply atrocious. But unintentionally funny acting, to be fair, is one of the reasons why anyone would indulge in the seemingly bottomless eighties slasher genre.
Add some off-beat writing and a few creepy scenes (the rising carpet is a standout) and you get some unexpected fun to sooth the lengthy running time, the bad shots, the inexplicably dim lighting and one of the most annoying scores you can possibly endure.
For eighties horror fans only, once is required.
