Review of Harishchandrachi Factory (2009) by Sankalan S — 05 Mar 2010
A wonderful comic re-take on the making of India's first feature film...The film is about Dada saheb Phalke's dedication and eccentricity...but it speaks immense volumes about the script-writer and director's dedication to create scenes symbolizing Dadasaheb's dedication.
..Who could have thought of a simple yet effective renaming of Phalke(Kelpha) when Phalke is showing magic tricks to the children...??? The unassuming 'growth of the pea-plant' beomes such a wonderful film within the film itself.
..brilliant...to think of such visuals in that time...oh boy...stunning...The entire film is one feel-good journey that will keep u smiling all along...and if u happen to understand Marathi...I guess it will double ur ecstacy.
..Translations rape...
