Review of Hard Candy (2005) by Rohan D — 20 Jun 2011
I haven't given a movie five stars in a while, and this actually isn't the best movie I've seen recently. However, I award it a contextual five stars for what it achieves. With a budget of less than $1 mil, only five actors (two principal), and a rookie director, one wouldn't expect anything out of this movie.
Yet it was incredible. Ellen Page is absolutely terrifying. Wilson is very good as well. I won't talk plot details, but I will say the story kept me guessing and definitely lived up to the name of its genre, Thriller.
