Review of Hacksaw Ridge (2016) by Brian S — 07 Aug 2018
The story is too fascinating to believe, and yet, it's true. I think it should be in the top five best war films of all time, the performances are amazing, especially by Andrew Garfield, it's well paced and it contains the most brutal, shocking and disgusting scenes of battle.
While those scenes may be hard to watch for some viewers, it's a great movie, with anti-war themes as well as respecting ones faith. Mel Gibson, who previously directed the great Apocalypto (2006) has definitely made the best war movie if the 2000s and it should've one the Academy award for Best Picture.
But anyways, exhilarating flick and recommended !!
