Review of Greater (2016) by Julian D — 27 Aug 2016
If there has ever been a time when you were disappointed in yourself or felt the deck was stacked against you, then this movie offers a look into the life of a young man who struggled and overcame those same feelings. More than a "football" or another "rah-rah" sports flick, this film shows what happens when hard work and faith in more than yourself collide with tragedy and doubt. I shed a few tears along the way, pretty much in a typical tearjerker movie level (Field of Dreams, The Notebook, etc) but one of the last scenes was too much for me on a personal level and I wept. Hard. Like "I can't breathe" hard.
Bottom line: go see this movie. Take the whole family and then talk about it on the way home. Hug and kiss your loved ones and never let them forget.
