#24 - A fun slice of sci-fi action, but missing the charm of the earlier films. It's not one of the best and it's not one of the worst, but it just gets lost in the middle of a seriers this long.
You can forgive low budget special effects in the 60s and 70s, but for the year 2000 this film looks very old. The close-up shots of Megaguirus look bad! I'm also not buying the "new-look" Godzilla.
Okay, so it's not as big a deviation as the 1997 American version, but it looks more like the prehistoric Godzilla from "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah" than the Big G we all know and love.
