Review of Future War (1997) by Tim S — 11 Sep 2012
Like a lot of movies that I review here on Flixster, Future War is a total bore. Yes, I meant for that to rhyme. It's one of the worst movies you're ever likely to see, even for a direct-to-video feature.
There are only a couple of noteworthy things about it that make it even remotely interesting to watch. There's a brief cameo by Forrest J. Ackerman reading his own magazine and being eaten by a dinosaur, and it was also featured on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
That crew made it at least enjoyable, as only they can, because the filmmakers behind it certainly weren't capable of doing it. It rips off everything from Alien, Aliens, The Terminator... even a Jean Claude Van-Damme look-a-like.
There's not a whole lot of good to say about it. Actually none at all, but you might want to see it for the reasons that I mentioned previously.
