The film that was once responsible for the downfall of Tod Browning, is now hailed as a classic in the Horror world. Funny how these things work. This film is dark and fascinating, and often kind of heart-warming.
..in a weird way. It's really only considered to be controversial because of the use of real sideshow performers, despite the fact that it is the "freaks," themselves, who end up being the heroes of the film.
