Review of Fitzcarraldo (1982) by Hans J. E — 25 Oct 2010
Absolutely brilliant plot! A metaphor for all of life's tremendous effort! The film is great if for nothing else than to be able to watch the amazing engineering feat of hauling a 19th century river steamer overland (which was actually accomplished for the film).
That, and a plot that delivers perhaps the most outstanding irony every written into a screenplay.
