Review of Fast, Cheap & Out of Control (1997) by Dominic D — 10 Jan 2008
A weirdly fascinating look at 4 weirdly fascinating characters. They are interesting because of the somewhat peculiar jobs they hold, but what makes them so interesting to Morris is their way of relating to their chosen profession.
Each is an expert in fields that are far from traditional or common (save for the robotics expert), and each is trying to control what is essentially uncontrollable. Morris weaves these stories through music and visuals that heighten the film to a kind of meditation on life.
Highly recommended.
