Fahrenheit 451 is one of my favorite books which is why this is so disappointing. They have great source material but completely change the characters turning point and outcome. In the movie yes he start reading books but that was the only thing the cause his change.
It was the fact society was becoming mindless and numb and none of that was really shown in the movie. They didn't have the young neighbor, the overdose, the mechanical hound. It not like Bradbury's book didn't have technology in it, it had overwhelming technology, it was just censored and controlled and you really didn't get that in the film either.
It just makes me a little sad.
