Review of Extracurricular Activities (2019) by Tvjerry — 26 May 2020
Colin Ford plays a savvy high school student who helps his classmates deal with bad parents…by killing them. Of course, he's clever enough to make the deaths look like accidents. On his trail is a seemingly inept detective (Timothy Simons, best known as the tall obnoxious Jonah on VEEP), but he can't seem to catch a break.
There's lots of potential for dark comedy, especially with Simons in the cast. While there is an overall shady feel to the proceedings, it never realizes much humor and the script never probes too deeply into the family scenarios.
