In 1988 the crime rate in the U.S went up to 400 percent and in manhattan island a maxium security prison one of the people sent to prison is mercenary snake plissken who is sent by the prison to rescue the president of the united states played by the late donald plessance who is captured by the duke of new york played by the late actor/musician issac hayes who was well known for playing chef on south park and of course his music and also donald plessance had worked with carpenter on halloween few years before escape from new york was released escape from new york is a fun action scifi film that is a pure great cult classic highly recommended.
