Review of Emperor (2012) by Claudette A — 21 Aug 2013
I was interested in this film because of the Japanese history. Though I think the Emperor had more to do with authorising attacks against different countries. What is not really known amongst non-Australian's is that Australia was also attacked 2 months after Pearl Harbour.
It was obviously in the best interest not to trial the Emperor of war crimes, since he had a devoted following of Japanese civilians and this would've caused a massacre. With the American occupation of Japan, this made Japan become very Westernised.
