Review of El Topo (1970) by Mike S — 08 Jan 2008
-Wow. I think I need to watch this at least 5 more times before I can figure out what jodorowsky is saying. However, after reading some stuff online about what Jodorowsky said about the movie and a little of the symbolism it definitly already makes alot more sense to me.
in The first half feels like a western and then the second half feels like...something else. Like Holy Mountain, it has countless allegories and symbols from different religions. Definitely one of the most bizarre, surreal movies I have ever seen.
If you are a fan of Jodorowsky or very surreal film making than I would strongly recommend this film.
