Review of Don McKay (2009) by Brad G — 01 Jul 2010
Maybe a little too quirky for its own good, Don McKay is still a solid little whodunit or whatsgoinon with an unexpected, but entertaining cast: Thomas Haden Church, Elisabeth Shue, James Rebhorn, Melissa Leo, Keith David, and M Emmet Walsh.
Sure, the film centers on an awkward plot point plopped in the middle and my favorite purple shirted alien smasher Keith David is rather pointless hereâ?¦but again, the actorsâ?¦Churchâ??s stoic glances and lonely terse language is well worth the price of admission.
And the climax is soooo delightfully scattershot. VF.
