Review of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (2010) by Steven B — 24 Sep 2011

I'm really not much of a fan of these Chinese Fantasy movies, but this one was really enjoyable, even at 2+ hours. It is a combination of martial arts, magic, and murder mystery. The special effects and CGI were all pretty seamless but not over done (except for maybe the finale).

I'm not at all familiar with Chinese actors, but everyone in this one were really convincing. This probably isn't a movie for everyone, but I enjoyed it and so did the other Slightly Strange People Who Go To The Sunday Morning Showing.
