Review of Descendants 2 (2017) by Omar L — 25 Sep 2017
A superior entry to the first one, this movie features the cast not as children of villains, but characters in their own right not defined or directly influenced by their parentage (with some exceptions).
The story was helps give the Isle more of a personality than the first one, and the villains chew every scene that they're in. But more than that, everyone in this movie seemed to be having fun, and that is something that translates to the audience having fun.
The choreography is a delight to watch, and the songs are fun and memorable. Kenny Ortega made this sequel feel like a much more professional show than the first, which makes it easier to watch as a parent.
