Review of Deep Impact (1998) by Jess C — 01 Apr 2013
This movie is so progressive for it's time. It had:
- Morgan Freeman as the president, ten years before there was Obama.
- A woman, a black man and a russian and an old guy in space, accounting for four of six crew members.
- A storyline that spans years and instead of focusing, as movies do these days, on only one plot (ie. just the crew, or just the relationship/love story, or just the science/nasa side), touches on all areas.
It's far from perfect, but it is incredibly enjoyable and moving.
