Review of Death of a Scoundrel (1956) by Paul D — 29 Jul 2013
George Sanders plays a cunning, conniving and heartless immigrant to great effect as he is extremely unlikeable, but at the same time he creates a character who's scheming creates plenty of interest.
The only downside to this crime drama is the debonair Englishness with which Sanders plays it, not at any point does he convince as a Czech immigrant - even when his mother arrives from Europe she is played with a relatively convincing accent.
