Review of Cut (2000) by Ludwig V — 09 Jul 2008
In the glut of naff slashers that followed the impact of Wes Craven's 'Scream', this nifty little Aussie terror was the only one to get it right. Fully aware of its place among them, it leaps forward with an interesting cast, playful dialogue and a uniquely memorable killer whose presence is very commendably explained with a unique supernatural twist that sits the movie neatly in a new box not generally confined to slasherdom (see Ringu, Poltergeist) for the evils of modern technology and of they way they interfere with your life.
Molly Ringwald should also be commended for starring in his Aussie hit over her native country's slasher crap.
