Review of Cracks (2009) by Greg W — 20 Jan 2012
Eva Green embodies a tantalizing combination of allure and creepiness, a younger, more titillating, less Gothic version of Helen Bonham Carter. Her nubile charges exude budding eroticism in this homoerotic period piece.
Those critics who felt the film lacked plot or form are mistaken; this film seems as though it could have been adapted from any of the wonderful lesbian historical novels of Sarah Waters.
