Original, surprising and gorgeously filmed! Director John Watt has been chosen to direct the new Marvel Studios Spider-Man movie and, based on the track record of Marvel honcho Kevin Feige's inspired director choices, it is easy to see why. Unlike other studios making superhero movies Feige sees a talented filmmaker and chooses them, looking beyond the style of movie and focusing on the talent. There is nothing in Cop Car that screams "John Watt would make a great Spider-Man movie", to the contrary Watt often just points the camera and lets the actors and mise en scene do the work, but its clear the man knows how to tell an engaging story.
