This is based on the real diary of a teenager that lived in Berlin in the late 70s. I was in love with this film when I was 15. About freedom and those burning years of rebellion. Great soundtrack by Bowie.
The ending is slightly different from the edition of the diary I read... Having a remake in a different town would seem a violation of the poor lives this film is about.
