Review of Christiane F. (1981) by Olli S — 10 Jan 2015
Incredible portrayals of junkie kids clambering past the hellhounds of the seventies Berlin. The development of the script doesn't quite live up to the magical combination of Bowie's Berlin trilogy soundtrack, sensitive and intelligent directing, as well as performances by children who really shouldn't be old enough to perform junkie-prostitute roles so subtly, so rawly.
But then again, perhaps the plot should have simply been extended for another hour. Give Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream a miss and check out this very special movie.
