Review of Chillerama (2011) by Dan H — 12 Jan 2017
It's the last night of a drive-in cinema's operation, and the owner ( Cecil played by Richard Riegle) decides to showcase some never-before-seen gems. Unfortunately, during the night, the patrons turn into sex crazed zombies and overrun the place. It's up to our heroes, Toby (Corey Jones), Mayna (Kaili Thorne), and Ryan (Brendan McCreary) to fight off the zombies with the assisstance of the owner.
The movies within this movie aren't very good, but the wrap-around story is very entertaining and fun. Our 4 leads are very likable, and I appreciate that they are all super big film nerds (Though there are a few too many quotes used from famous films). Overall, Chillerama is not the greatest anthology horror film. It's very silly, goofy, ridiculous and is bogged down in way too many sex and body jokes. That said, the wrap around segment is good enough that I'd say it's worth a watch for that part alone. It also needs more breasts.
