Review of Catch Me Daddy (2015) by Andy L — 02 Mar 2015
I loved this film because it was a completely engrossing peek into the characters' lives that had clearly been there for all the years leading up to it, and which would continue (for most of them) into the future.
Like life itself it doesn't really have a beginning, a middle and an end, but is rather part of a continuum. It's an uncomfortable watch, but then it should be because it deals with a range of very uncomfortable subjects.
You're left wondering how the day's events came about, and what would happen after the closing credits. It's a film that sticks in the mind for a long time. Beautifully shot, the cinematography captures both the raw, natural beauty of the Pennines, and the contrasting nature of the areas where humans live out their often squalid existences.
