Review of Captive Wild Woman (1943) by Steve G — 04 Jun 2018
A lesser known entry in the Universal Monster series. Best lion/tiger fight in movie history. Better than CGI. Carradine is evil. Lots of mad scientist movies at this time. Absolutely zero logic or believability, but that misses the point.
Fun hokum. The lab & circus scenes drag on, though. Could have explained the surgical process better. Did they totally forget the sister? Movie gorillas are always scary. The big cats running amok at the end was legit frightening.
Kind of racist that her skin gets darker before she turns into an ape -- and they condemned Roseanne? The circus before liberals ruined it.
