Review of Burke & Hare (2010) by Cykranosh I — 15 Feb 2012
One of the funniest and entertaining movies I've seen in a long time. Hollywood directing meets British wit, and modern European sensibility.
One of the problems with modern British humour is that it tends to be too subtle, but this movie certainly goes all out to give the world what being Scottish and British is all about. I'm certainly happier with casting Andy Serkis than the up-and-coming David Tennant opposite of Simon Pegg, a veteran comedian. I can't imagine Tennant doing the things they do. It's a funny movie, but only if you have the stomach for it. It's a dark comedy, so it needs a certain irreverent kind of mind to appreciate.
Well done, with a bit o whisky, ya scunners!
