Review of Bukowski: Born Into This (2003) by Wendy S — 28 Nov 2008
This is nothing like "Barfly" for those of you who have seen it... he really is not 'that man'... he has so much more depth. Which is refreshing, and not disappointing at all. What I went in expecting to see: Excessive drinking, parties, fights, womanizing etc.
, and altho he has a lot of that in his life, that's not all of who he is. Definately helps me appreciate his poetry/ line of thinking/ life that much more. He's gritty, raw and says things the way they need to be said.
.. no foolin. Well done documentary and quotes a few of my favourite pieces, esp. the bluebird one.
