Review of Blue Spring (2001) by Emily O — 08 Feb 2008
This is one of the coolest movies i've seen.
Japanese boy school saga, story by one of my favourite comic artist Taiyo Matsumoto of his comic also named 'blue Spring' drawn in his most grotesque scruffy style; The comic is a lot more graphic and violent. It's a bit of a big-old cock fight.
because the film relys on a low amount of dialogue, some people might find it a bit strange or airy.
Beautiful symbolic images, wonderful soundtrack, little dialogue. The kids in this are just so cool, but in the playground jeolousy and a fight for learship can destroy friendships and turn good natured people into bitter barbaric savages.
