Review of Blue Jasmine (2013) by John C — 22 Mar 2014
An amazing character study into the lives of two dysfunctional people and the chaos they inflict on those around them. Blanchett shines like you've never seen her before, or many others for that matter.
It's hard to believe that Cate was acting and not truly experiencing a life breakdown in screen. Woody's signature touches are all over this movie especially his way of layering slow French peasant music overtop emotionally violent character moments.
This is a phenomenal film.
