Review of Black Orpheus (1959) by Maciek B — 07 Dec 2008
Black Orpheus was my introduction to international film at the age of five. Thank you Mom!
Marpessa Dawn (Eurydice) was one of the most enchantingly beautiful people I have ever seen. Her portrayal of Eurydice in this modern adaptation of the Greek myth is superb.
Bruno Mello delivers an equally stunning performance as Orfeu.
The organic brazilian back drop coupled with the constant sound of carnival is awe inspiring.
Black Orpheus is easily on of my favorite films of all times!!!
This movie is definately a must see for fans of international classics!
Thank you for this one Marcel Camus!
