Review of Black Mama, White Mama (1973) by Vincent P — 04 Mar 2008
How many elements of 70s exploitation can you fit in one film?
I'm sure this film comes close to the maximum as it includes: Women in prison, shout-outs, bare breasts, shower scenes, lesbian guards, violent revolutionaries, gansters running prostitution rings, incredibly red blood, blaxploitation (Pam Grier), a funky-ass soundtrack, distribution by American International, icon John Ashley's involvment, stabbing, strangling, attemted rape, shot abroad for tax cuts and cheap labor, and not last (but the last I'll mention) and definetly not least SID HAIG!
