Review of Before Sunrise (1995) by Trey D — 12 Jun 2013
It had been a long time that I hadn't watched a movie that moved me so much. Before Sunrise just made it on my cult movies' list. Not being a fan of the genre, I appreciated that this story doesn't rely on romantic and dramatic clichés and really feels authentic, spontaneous and subtle.
It also feels like every part of this movie has been thoroughly thought of and has a meaning: the intense eye contact, the awkward pauses, the arguments, even the locations in Vienna. The style is very simple and structured.
Besides the amazing writing, the actors carry outstanding performances. I could just rewatch Before Sunrise over and over again.
