Review of Backbeat (1994) by Jessica _ — 14 Mar 2008
I believe this must be the only decent movie about the beatles (without the beatles in it). The plot was very faithful to what actually happened and Ian Hart was perfect as John. However, I really don't like that guy that plays Stu.
He's just really annoying and cannot act in anything he does. I wish they had of focoused on the beatles more then Stu, although it was supposed to be his story. Perhaps if somebody else had played Stu, it would have worked better- but we barley even see paul, george and we don't actually see Ringo's face (which is understandable considering he wasn't a beatle at this point).
Great soundtrack which makes it all worthwhile.
