Nietzsche-reading wunderkid rockets to the top one seduction at a time. Stanwyck goes meta in her portrayal of a will to power social climber; plus, you get a young John Wayne. The last third scraps what had been a naturalistic look at patriarchy at work and home.
Do not accept anything but the uncensored version...
