Review of Awaydays (2009) by Keith M — 31 Jan 2010
This film shows that scouse football hooligans can be Gay too, but they are not particulairily good at it. Inspired by the cheery sound of Joy Division these two generally unlikable lads try and discover if they are gay or not. Elvis in my opinion was Gay, he showed this by looking sad a lot and not shagging women, Paul was performed by such a bad actor I found it hard to believe anything he did in the film, I dont often notice bad acting but this guy was a combination of ham, fist and wooden acting floated on a total lack of charisma.
The fights are too short but the nice use of stanley knives keeps the interest ticking over and gets an extra star. The ending was too confused and rushed to leave you with any fee ling of completion.
Note. It is always the leader of the firm who rushes in and shots "Come on then" its a very important job.
