Review of Awaydays (2009) by Caroline J — 08 Apr 2011
I've seen worse football films ( Green Street ) but that ain't saying much. What the film has in it's favour is a great soundtrack that works really well with the feel of the film and a setting that for once is not in London.
What let's it down is it all feels a little fake ( That's what you get when middle class art students try to do a film about working class hooligans ) and never really makes a point leaving you wondering what was the message we were supposed to be reading into.
Another plus is I've realised how good Ultravox were before Midge Ure took over.
